LA Gavin

Found‘s leading actor, 14-year-old Gavin Brown, took home the prize for Best Actor at the 2nd Annual Los Angeles Fear & Fantasy Film Festival on Saturday, May 11th, 2013. The award is Brown’s second, after winning Best Male Performance from the A Night of Horror International Film Festival in Sydney, Australia, last month. Brown was accompanied to the L.A. festival by director Scott Schirmer, producer Damien Wesner, composer Lito Velasco, and co-star Angela Denton. The festival, which takes place at the Banshee Theater in Burbank, is geared toward filmmakers and prides itself on choosing the very finest that genre films have to offer, regardless of budget-size. Found was honored to be among the seven selected feature films and to have Gavin win an award that was previously won by Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Pumpkinhead) for last year’s entry, It’s in the Blood. The biggest winner of the festival was An American Terror, which took home the honors for best feature, best director, and best actress. Veteran genre director Russel Mulcahy (Highlander, Razorback, TV’s Teen Wolf) was in attendance to receive a special achievement award.
