Found opened Friday, August 15th, 2014 across the United States on iTunes, cable VOD, and in limited theaters in Los Angeles and New York.  “Scott Schirmer’s intriguing debut feature presents its story through the eyes of a serial killer’s little brother,” writes Dennis Harvey at Variety. He continues to call the film “a serious attempt at psychological realism under grotesque narrative circumstances… solid performances, production values and general polish keep Found compelling, on occasion arresting.” Michael Rechtshaffen at The Hollywood Reporter calls Found “a genuinely disturbing serial killer thriller” that “could find a faithful genre following,” while Michael Gingold at Fangoria writes, “This is an impressively composed and assured example of what can be done with minuscule funds but sizable ambition… it points toward a bright future for Schirmer on the horror-filmmaking scene.” The film is released by XLrator Media, who will be putting out a DVD on September 23rd (available for pre-order now at  Amazon / Best Buy / Barnes & Noble / Walmart). XLrator will also be releasing the film in Canada, on iTunes and VOD in October. Meanwhile, Monster Pictures is releasing the movie in Australia on September 17th, and in the United Kingdom on October 13th. As the film’s roll-out progresses, its creators are already fast at work on a spin-off film inspired by Found‘s ‘movie-within-the-movie’, the grisly slasher film Headless, expected to hit the festival circuit next spring.
